Registration is now open for the second annual Women in Finance Virtual Summit Toronto which will take place virtually on October 22. This free event aims to tackle issues surrounding recruiting and retaining female talent in the financial services industry and redress the gender imbalance, by showcasing the achievements of women in the sector and identifying new role models. This growing awards series acts as a flagship and high-profile platform to support the industry in its mission to move the dial on gender.
The global pandemic has had a significant impact on women's participations in the workforce. With unemployment rates dipping lower than what experts have seen in over 30 years, according to a recent study conducted by RBC, women are facing the brunt of the downturned economy.
“While women's labour participation rates were at all time highs prior to the COVID-9 pandemic, today our progress is at risk of being set back by decades" says Jennifer Reynolds, President & CEO of Toronto Finance International. "I am proud to be speaking at the Women in Finance Virtual Summit that promotes the full and equal participation of women and diverse groups in the economy. This event is particularly relevant right now as women are facing considerable challenges returning to the workforce as a result of the impact of COVID-19."
This year’s virtual summit will facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration and networking and with the help and support of expert speakers, will address what is essential for economic recovery; how can we invest responsibly; where FinTechs can offer support and solutions; how we can be agile leaders and better support our teams; and how we can come together for truly equal opportunities for all people/groups.
